Death is inevitable, so we all need to be prepared. A well-executed and thought-out estate plan is essential in avoiding probate, protecting your assets, and caring for your family after you are gone. Depending on the estate plan you want, Wills, Revocable Trusts, and Irrevocable Trusts can all be used to accomplish your wishes. We are here to listen and understand your estate planning goals and to accomplish those goals by preparing the required documents needed in carrying out your final wishes and ensuring your legacy.
The loss of a loved one is overwhelming, and navigating the probate process alone only adds to your burden. We are here to help during this difficult time by navigating the probate process with you, answering any questions you may have, and preparing all documents required by the probate.
Trusts can be vital documents used in one's estate plan. Not only do they protect assets from creditors, but they also can provide tax benefits after death. Due to the required filings and transfer of assets, the administration of a trust can be complicated for the Trustee. We are here to simplify the trust administration process by assisting the Trustee with all the trust administration requirements, preparing all documents, and explaining each step of the trust administration process to the Trustee.
There are many things to consider when preparing an estate plan for a loved one with special needs. Future medical costs, government benefits such as eligibility for SSI, and living arrangements all need to be considered. We are here to listen and understand the unique objectives you have for your loved one, while preparing a plan to accomplish those objectives.
A Guardianship may be required when a loved one is deemed incompetent. There are three types of Guardianships. The Guardian of the Person is the court appointed individual who looks after your loved one both medically and personally. Next, the Guardian of the Estate is the court appointed individual who looks after your loved one's finances. Finally, the General Guardian is a combination of both the Guardian of the Person and Guardian of the Estate. Obtaining a Guardianship is a long process that requires a court hearing and accountings after the Guardian is appointed. We are here to help with every aspect of the Guardianship process. From representing you in the Guardianship hearing to preparing the accountings, we will make this process as stress free as possible for you and your loved ones.
